The School Day
The school gates are opened at 8.40am and children walk independently through the school grounds into their classroom. This is closely monitored by staff along the route. Gates close promptly at 8:50am. Any families arriving after this time will need to take their child/children to the main reception foyer and sign them in at the late desk which is evaluated regularly with the Education Welfare Team.
Messages for Teachers
At the start of the day, messages for teachers can be given to a senior member of staff standing at one of the gates. The Headteacher, Deputy Head, Assistant Headteachers, Senior Teachers and members of the PIT Stop Team are available on the gate for a brief chat first thing in the morning to take any messages and answer any questions.
Collection Information
- Children are collected from the playgrounds at the end of the day.
- If a child is collected by another adult, we expect parents to inform the school either in writing or by phoning the school office as early as possible.
- We must have written permission from a parent if children are allowed to walk home on their own.
- Parents can speak to Class Teachers after school but we must ask that you wait until all children are dismissed safely before approaching teachers. For more sensitive or detailed discussions, appointments can be made to speak to the Class Teachers after school via the school office.
