Tree House
Welcome to Tree House!
Welcome to Treehouse!
We are an Additionally Resourced Unit within Midfield Primary School, currently consisting of 3 classes. Tadpoles, Froglets and Treefrogs. Each of the classes have their own learning style as we cater for a variety of different learning styles that are all tailored to the needs of each individual child in the provision.
We have a 100% child centred approach that puts the needs of each child at the centre and heart of everything that we do and the children are split into groups that are reflective of their ability and where they are on the SEN learning journey. This means that we have a wide range of ages within each of our classes.
"A happy regulated child is a learning child!"
TREEFROGS:
The children in Treefrogs are all working on elements of the National Curriculum which are tailored and bespoke predominantly to reflect the requirements that are set out in the EHCP and the daily needs of each child.
FROGLETS:
The Froglets cohort are of mixed ability and learning styles with some learning through sensory activities whilst developing the "behaviours for learning" skills that are pre-national curriculum activities.
TADPOLES:
All of our children in Tadpoles learn through 100% sensory play. It is through the 5 senses that these beautiful children learn and develop their skills pre skills for numeracy and literacy. In this class we promote a variety of different communication styles that include basic Makaton and PECS
If you are interested in your child attending the Tree House Provision you MUST have an EHCP upon which you will have a designated EHCP co-ordinator. Consultations for our Treehouse Provision can ONLY be made through your co-ordinator.
To find out more about the provision please go to our "Information for Parents" page (accessible on the menu to the right).
If you have a child new to Tree House setting or a child currently in the Tree House setting please feel free to download the PDF below. We have created photo cards (or PECS) for you to use at home. You will see that we use our first names when referring to ourselves in the provision. This supports the language development for children who find communication a challenge. It stops children from 'generalising'; this is when the same word is used to name something. For example all female adults could become 'mum'. Using our first names takes away the confusion of the titles, 'Mrs' or 'Miss'.
